About
A batch of three vintage glossy press kit photographs from Terrence Malick’s second motion picture – the sublime “Days of Heaven”, originally released in USA cinemas back in 1978.
Followers of Malick’s work will recall that this film was the eagerly awaited (unrelated) follow-up to his 1974 directorial debut “Badlands” starring Martin Sheen, Sissy Spacek and Warren Oates. That movie was released somewhat under the radar and yet received copious amounts of acclaim from critics and moviegoers alike. Four years later and the pressure was therefore firmly on with Days of Heaven – but what Malick, his cast and crew delivered most certainly didn’t disappoint! Famed for it’s magical “Golden Hour” cinematography, sparse, believable performances from all four lead actors (and beyond) and a typically memorable score composed by the Maestro Ennio Morricone, Days of Heaven is widely regarded as a landmark release in the history of contemporary American cinema – and rightly so.
If by some quirk you have yet to see the film, rectify that immediately.
