The Bridge on the River Kwai (1957) [UK]

An incomplete set of eight cards from the UK first release of the David Lean classic, often mis-titled as “The Bridge Over The River Kwai”.

NOTE: I originally believed this batch of represent a complete set, only to pick up an additional single card (not present here!) many years later. As it is highly unusual to encounter sets with an odd number of cards, I therefore conclude that there will have been at least ten cards in the original “set” – possibly even more…

A similarly titled film (complete with an impressive cast) was released over 30 years later, but is actually not a sequel to David Lean’s classic original.
