A single black and white photograph from the UK or US release of the dark Disney classic Something Wicked This Way Comes (1983), starring Jonathan Pryce as “Mr. Dark”. This is the only black and white still for this movie in the gallery’s collection – but I have a feeling that it may well have been the best image from the set!
The full caption reads “EVIL CLUTCHES – Mr. Dark (Jonathan Pryce) searches for two boys whose innocence is needed to fuel his carnival of evil”.
The film was based on an original novel of the same name, written by Ray Bradbury and published some 21 years prior, in 1962.
If you are wondering about the origins of the title itself, you have to go back much further! It originates from a line in Macbeth, which was written by William Shakespere in 1623!
