Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope (1977)

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.

An authentic, vintage colour lobby card - printed in the U.S.A. and produced to help promote the film that launched the incredibly popular Star Wars series of movies. This iconic image features the lead character, Luke Skywalker, from a scene early on in proceedings.

What are Lobby Cards..?

Lobby cards are original pieces of marketing material, which were printed to preview and promote upcoming and current film releases, in movie theatres and cinemas. USA cards were typically printed in two sizes (14″ x 11″ and 10″ x 8″) and came in sets of 8 (occasionally more, or less and sometimes with an additional “title” card too). In the UK, lobby cards are typically known as “front of house” cards. Similar cards were also printed in other countries, such as France, Germany and Japan.

They are no longer printed or produced and have become increasingly collectable as pieces of vintage movie memorabilia, over the years. Thanks for visiting the gallery.
