Predator 2 (1990)

A complete set of eight cards from the UK release of the first sequel in the Predator series of films. Directed by Stephen Hopkins (perhaps best known as lead director and producer of the first season of “24”, starring Kiefer Sutherland).

Special note: The key card here (the fantastic, memorable image featuring the Predator himself, stood high above the city) is exceedingly unusual. You will note on the image the presence of two black bars, to either side. Effectively like the widescreen effect when viewed on old 4:3 ratio television sets… but on the sides, rather than the top and bottom edges!

I can only assume that this was due to an unfortunate cropping error (of the source negative, perhaps) – resulting in leaving the marketing people producing this lobby card with no choice but to include the black bars. The end result is rather odd, as the caption bar of course spans the entire width. With thousands of cards in my collection, this is the ONLY card where I have seen this kind of presentation…
